We realize it’s short notice, but we wanted to alert you that, later tonight, Senator Mike Lee of Utah intends to offer an amendment to the budget resolution that would prohibit any gun control legislation which does not have a 2/3 vote in the Senate.

We know, we know. We would prefer to prohibit any and all gun control, even if it had 100 votes.

But if the Lee amendment is passed, the practical effect will be that gun control can never again pass the Senate.

In case you missed it, an interesting exchange took place in the Senate Judiciary Committee last week.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz politely asked gun-control crazy Dianne Feinstein how she would feel about applying her minimalist view on the Second Amendment to other parts of the Bill of Rights.

Feinstein went into orbit. "I'm not a sixth grader," she huffed. Invoking her extensive Senate history of spitting on the Constitution, she made it clear that she didn't appreciate being reminded of the Constitution's restrictions on her legislative will.

NRA sues Gov. Cuomo over New York gun law

The National Rifle Association today filed a federal lawsuit against New York Gov. Mario Cuomo, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and other officials, seeking injunctive relief from the state’s Secure Ammunition and Firearms (SAFE) Act.

Governor John Hickenlooper (D) sent a message to the citizens of Colorado that he cares more about pleasing New York City’s mayor than he does about the constitutional rights of Coloradoans when he signed into law the most sweeping anti-gun legislation in the history of the Centennial State. Despite overwhelming opposition to this legislation, and despite the rich hunting heritage and deep respect for the right to self-defense by all Coloradoans, Governor Hickenlooper proved that he is only interested in pleasing Mayor Bloomberg and playing New York City politics.

A Terrible Secret:

Yesterday, without warning, local police in NJ, escorted by officials from the State’s “Department of Children and Families,” literally raided the house of a hapless NJ resident, demanding to see his privately-owned guns, which were locked in a gunsafe. In typical bully fashion, they also demanded to search his entire house and threatened to take his children.
