Vietnamese General Fought French, American Forces

Vo Nguyen Giap, who commanded Vietnamese forces in wars against France, the United States, and South Vietnam, has died. He was 102 years old.
According to media reports Giap had been spending time in a military hospital near Hanoi due to failing health. Giap was best known for defeating French forces at the battle of Dien Bien Phu.
Giap was known to regularly accept heavy losses among his troops. His mentor was Ho Chi Minh, who was the first dictator of North Vietnam.
