Responsible for Killings in Northern Georgia
By Harold Hutchison

A jury in a federal court in Atlanta has convicted four MS-13 gangbangers of murder, robbery, firearms, and other charges. “These defendants were the leaders of MS-13, an international gang known for its gratuitous murders,” said U.S. Attorney Yates. “They spread fear throughout the community by killing suspected rival gang members and others who cross their path. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to protect our streets from turning into battlegrounds.”

MS-13, a gang composed of mostly Salvadorans, but also Hondurans, Guatemalan, Mexican, and other immigrants from Central and South America, is estimated to have as many as 10,000 members across the country. The gang has been operating in the United States since 2005.

Special Agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigation lead the investigation into the gang. Will they still have the tools if Congress passes the Senate’s amnesty bill?
