FROM SPRINGFIELD ARMORY: The New Range Officer Compact .45!

By Gary Paul Johnston

Over 30 years ago, I evaluated the then new .45 ACP Colt Officer’s ACP pistol, a chopped down version of the Commander patterned after the small custom pistols perfected by DEVEL, of Ohio, which used a bushingless barrel built for DEVEL by BAR-STO Precision.

Following my report on the pistol, I had what I thought was an even better idea; I took a Commander slide and put it on the Officer’s ACP pistol. This provided a shorter grip for concealment and 4-inch barrel for more sight radius and muzzle velocity. I then wrote an article about that pistol. I’m not claiming to be the only one who came up with that idea, as others came to the same conclusion – it seemed a “no-brainer.”

Media Still Demonizing Police

By Cliff Kincaid
Accuracy in Media

People are laughing at, and not with, comedian Jon Stewart, now that he has been caught by a District Attorney smearing police officers. But it’s really not very funny. The highly paid entertainer, who likes to mix comedy with his own liberal political views, as well as with profanity, recently launched a vicious rant against what he implied were racist police wantonly murdering black people on the streets of America. But Stewart was so eager to smear the police that his staff failed to do adequate research into the alleged cases of so-called police brutality he was citing on the air.

In alleging a series of cases of black victims of police brutality or outright murder, Stewart claimed that a black man named Dante Parker had been shot and killed by police in San Bernardino County. San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos immediately recorded a video setting the record straight. He said he had been flipping through the TV channels when he saw Stewart making his false accusations. “He was so wrong about those facts,” Ramos said of Stewart’s treatment of the Parker case. “They did not shoot him. They tasered him after he committed a burglary and he was attempting to assault a deputy sheriff, a sheriff who was losing that struggle and fighting for her life. We later found he was under the influence of many types of drugs, which was the cause of his death.”

FOURTH CARRIER IN TWO YEARS GONE

USS Constellation  Goes to The Scrapyard
By SOF

While you were not paying attention, the Obama Administration has sent a fourth carrier to the scrapyard since 1 December, 2012. Like USS Forrestal (CV 59), USS Saratoga (CV 60), and USS Enterprise (CVN 65), USS Constellation (CV 64) has been discarded at a time when America is facing growing naval threats from China and Russia.

Pirates, Revenge, An American/German Hostage, A High Stakes Ransom Demand Then Freedom From Captivity After 977 Days

In 2012, American/German journalist went to Somalia to research for a book on Piracy, but he was kidnapped by Somali Pirates. The following video was released with Somali's conducting a very cheesy video in which Moore, admittedly terrified, publicized the ransom demands. He was to be sold to Terror Group al Shabab if the ransom was not paid within three days:

COLD, DEAD HANDS

LYRICS:
From the time that I was 5 years old,
the way it was told to me,
The workingman built this land and fought to keep it free.
They knew we had to do what it took to keep our families safe.
Now you wanna throw it all away -- yeah!

Buddy if you try to take my rights you're in for one hell of a fight.
When it comes to my Constitution I'm a true believer.
You come to my house I'll tell you right now, I'll give you my gun,

JINSA Honors American Military Heroes

By Roger Aronoff
Accuracy in Media

Last month the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs held its annual event honoring six young military heroes for their bravery in the war on terrorism. The six represent each of the five branches of the U.S. military and the U.S. Special Operations Command. These Grateful Nation awards have been held since 2003, and I have been fortunate enough to attend just about all of them.

Red Lobster Patron Proves Folly of Gun-Free Policies
By SOF

While the Bloomberg-funded stooges at Moms Demand Action have managed to persuade a number of businesses to prohibit firearms, even those carried by those with CCW permits, the Darden Group has not been one of them. That decision may have helped thwart an armed robbery at a Las Vegas Red Lobster.

RETIRING CONGRESSMAN: BLASTS CONGRESS: WE FAILED THE TROOPS

Rep. “Buck” McKeon Slams Congressional Failure to Support Military
By SOF

Most of the time, an outgoing Congressman’s farewell speech tends to be a flowery good-bye. Not in the case of the outgoing chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon, who slammed Congress for failing to support the troops.

“Right now, they are walking patrol in the mountains of Afghanistan,” McKeon said in his speech on the House floor in which he slammed the effects that the sequestration cuts have had on the troops.
