FAMILY OF FALLEN SOLDIER INVOKES BENGHAZI
Did Obama Lie About Search for Bergdahl?
By Harold Hutchison
The controversy surrounding the release of Bowe Bergdahl has continued to explode as the family of at least one Soldier killed in Afghanistan claims that the Obama Administration lied about the circumstances leading to his death, comparing it to the Administration’s portrayal of the 11 September, 2012 attack on the American consulate in Benghazi.

According to reports from TheBlaze.com and the London Daily Mail, the family of Army Second Lieutenant Darryn Andrews have claimed that Andrews was killed while looking for Bowe Bergdahl, but that DOD officials told them he died while searching for a Taliban leader. The family described themselves as “devastated” to learn the truth.
The reports said that six soldiers died searching for Bergdahl, who was captured on 30 June, 2009 after he left his unit’s base in Paktika Province, Afghanistan. Bergdahl was reportedly taken by the Haqqani Network, allies of the Taliban. During the search for Bergdahl, the United States diverted numerous resources, including unmanned aerial vehicles, to locate the soldier.
Andrews’ unit had been thinned out to 20 men during the search for Bergdahl, and Andrews was killed on 4 September, 2009 after tackling three of his men as a Taliban insurgent aimed an RPG at them. He later received the Silver Star. Prior to his death, Andrews had told his family that he believed Bergdahl had deserted.
“When my son was killed there was no mention of searching for this guy (Bergdahl) but once all this has come out we got several emails and calls from soldiers who were with him in Afghanistan. They say their mission was to search for Bergdahl. He (Lt Andrews) was killed in the search. We have no documentation of that,” Andy Andrews, Darryn’s father, told the London Daily Mail.

“It’s a big cover-up like Benghazi, just like everything Obama has done. We want the truth to come out,” Andrews added. Lt. Andrews left behind his wife and a son. A daughter was born three months after his death.
In addition to Andrews, five other American troops were killed while searching for Bergdahl.
