F-15 Crashes Near Deerfield
A F-15C Eagle air superiority fighter crashed near Deerfield, Virginia, earlier today. The aircraft had been on a routine training mission.
The pilot , the only one on board, lost communications and the search is in.
The F-15C was from the 104th Fighter Wing. It had been flying from its base in Massachusetts to New Orleans for upgrades to its electronic systems. According to reports, the pilot of the plane reported an emergency before contact with the aircraft was lost.
The F-15 entered service in 1979, and took into account many lessons from the Vietnam War. The plane was partially replaced by the F-22 Raptor.
