DEMS WALK OUT ON FAMILIES OF BENGHAZI VICTIMS
Hearing Held Thursday on ARB Report
By Harold Hutchsion
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee walked out of a hearing as families of victims of the 11 September, 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, were about to testify. The walkout came as the report by the Accountability Review Board came under sharp criticism.
According to a report by Breitbart news, 15 out of 17 Democrats walked out as family members of Sean Smith and Tyrone Woods were about to speak to the committee. Representative Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, used Twitter to send a photo of the empty chairs.
During the hearing on Thursday, Issa and other Republicans were very critical of the Accountability Review Board’s report, asking tough questions of retired Admiral Michael Mullen and former ambassador Thomas Pickering.
