BRITISH PARLIAMENT DELAYS DEBATE
Might Obama Go It Alone?
By Harold Hutchison
The British parliament is delaying debate on an authorization to use force in response to the alleged use of chemical weapons by Syria. The delay comes as the United States seems to be inching closer a unilateral strike.
According to a report by Newsmax.com, the delay in the British parliament debate comes as the opposition Labor party announced it would oppose intervention. Even as the debate was delayed, the British deployed six Typhoon fighters to Cyprus.
The United States has moved five destroyers to the area, all of them capable of firing Tomahawk cruise missiles. The Russians, who oppose action against the regime of Bashir al-Assad, have also moved warships to the Mediterranean.
