BREAKING: WAITING PERIODS TOSSED OUT
California Case Wipes Out Country’s Longest Waiting Period
The longest waiting period to take possession of a legally-purchased firearm has been invalidated in some cases by a federal judge. The ruling came down earlier today.
According to a report by Dave Workman at Examiner.com, the ruling by Senior Judge Andrew Ishii threw out the waiting period as it pertained to anyone who passed a background check and either already owned a firearm, or who held a valid concealed carry permit. Earlier this year, California’s CCW law, which has been used to arbitrarily deny applications for CCW permits, was also ruled unconstitutional.
The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) pursued the lawsuit. SAF General Counsel Miko Tempski said that the suit showed that “years of SAF and Calguns Foundation litigation are coming to fruition. We have built a solid foundation that allows us to successfully challenge irrational laws like this.”
