Despite Death of Leader, Terror Group Still Fights
By Harold Hutchison

While the world’s attention has been focused on Syria, major developments have happened elsewhere. One such development centers around the increasing dangerousness of Boko Haram, which seeks to establish an Islamic state in northern Nigeria.

According to a report by VOA News, the terrorist group is rebounding despite the reported death of its leader, Abubakar Shekau, who lingered for weeks after he was wounded by Nigerian troops. The group has also reportedly suffered other losses among its high-level leaders.

However, the death of high-ranking leaders may be resulting in the group, which some believe to be a conglomerate of radical groups. The group was founded in 2002, was cracked down on in 2009, but has come back to the point where a new round of military action was necessary.
