Al-Qaeda Instructor Scores 22 Own Goals In Negligent Detonation…
By Harold Hutchison

At least 22 people were killed when an instructor training would-be murder-suicide bombers accidentally set off a device. The location was also used to store explosives and materials.

According to multiple media reports, the blast, which occurred north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad in the town of Samara, also wounded fifteen would-be members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, an al-Qaeda affiliate once headed by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Eight would-be members were captured by Iraqi authorities.

One Iraqi official told the New York Times that the instructor responsible for the negligent detonation had been known to be a prolific recruiter for the al-Qaeda affiliate, which has seen a resurgence since Barack Obama withdrew American forces from Iraq.

Fortunately, this time, it appears that only bad guys and would-be bad guys were killed in this work accident that resulted in nearly two dozen own goals.
