Democrats Make Comments on Rape, But Get Pass from Media
By Harold Hutchison

Perhaps the most appalling comments during the massive gun grab fuelled by Colorado governor John Hickenlooper have come from Democrats in the state legislature – often addressing rape victims who have spoken out against the passage of the proposed laws. Yet the media has mot pounced on these comments as they did those of Republican Senate candidates Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock.

"I just want to say that, actually statistics are not on your side even if you had a gun," State Senator Evie Hudak told Amanda Cooper during the hearing. "And, chances are that if you would have had a gun, then he would have been able to get that from you and possibly use it against you."

"I had a hard time falling asleep because I couldn't stop thinking about what she said to me," Collins told the Denver Post.

This was not the first time a Democratic lawmaker had made such comments. State Representative Joe Salazar said during the state house debate on a bill banning concealed carry on college campuses, “That’s why we have call boxes, that’s why we have safe zones, that’s why we have whistles, because you just don’t know who you’re going to be shooting at.”

Salazar went on to say, “And you don’t know, if you feel like you’re going to be raped, or if you feel like someone’s been following you around, or if you feel like you’re in trouble, and when you may actually not be, that you pop out that gun and you pop around that somebody.”

The comments acting dismissive of rape by gun-grabbers have spread beyond Colorado. During Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News Channel, Democratic strategist Zerlina Maxwell claimed “I don’t think that we should be telling women anything. I think we should be telling men not to rape women and start the conversation there.”

When challenged by an incredulous Hannity, Maxwell repeated the bizarre claim. Check out the video of those remarks:
