By LTC Allen West, USA (Ret.)

Last week, the Pentagon issued a report based on an independent study on the future of Afghanistan. As reported in the Washington Free Beacon, the Taliban will resurge in Afghanistan following the drawdown of U.S. and allied troops in Afghanistan later this year.

By Michael Ledeen

It’s all about winning and losing, but the best man doesn’t always win, and outcomes frequently have more to do with luck than with merit. Brilliant strategies fail, and fools stumble into glorious victories. Napoleon preferred a lucky general to a brilliant one.

Which brings us to today. The headlines are grim, the pictures from Syria, Venezuela and Ukraine are blood-chilling, executions and demonstrations are mounting in Iran, and Obama doesn’t know what to do about anything. So he doesn’t do anything; he and his strategists just dither. And yet…

Some Afghans were not thrilled about the release of the militants, with one telling the Associated Press, “I think they will return back to their people, to the Taliban.”

By Harold Hutchison

In the article, Prager wrote, “The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have not ended. Only America’s involvement has ended (in Iraq) or is about to end (in Afghanistan). And, unlike Sergeant Remsburg, America has quit.”

WITHDRAWAL FROM IRAQ GAVE AL-QAEDA HAVEN

Consequence of Obama’s Withdrawal Becomes Clear
By Harold Hutchison

The resurgence of al-Qaeda can be directly linked to Barack Obama’s decision to withdraw troops from Iraq at the end of 2011, a number of experts have said.

According to a report by the Washington Free Beacon, the withdrawal of troops made it easier for al-Qaeda affiliates to regain ground by creating a vacuum. Most notably has been al-Qaeda’s Iraqi affiliate now becoming the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
