An Afghan and coalition security force killed Mustafa, a Taliban leader who commanded a cell of fighters in facilitating and emplacing improvised explosive devices along Afghan public roads, in Paktika province overnight.
Intelligence reports led the security force to a compound southwest of Maspikay in Omnah district to search for the individual. As the security force approached the targeted compound, Mustafa, armed with an AK-47, emerged from the compound and threatened the security force. The security force reacted by shooting and killing him.
