The International Security Assistance Force confirmed a precision air strike in Khost province Thursday killed Qari Naseb Khan, a Haqqani Network senior leader who directed attacks against Afghan and coalition forces, facilitated weapons, and reported directly to Haqqani Network senior leadership.

He had also established enemy positions in order to target coalition aircraft.

Militants hit at government and NATO targets in Pakistan on Monday, and came under attack from a suspected U.S. drone.

Police near Peshawar said militants opened fire on NATO tankers carrying fuel for troops in Afghanistan. Police said at least two people, including a driver and his assistant, were wounded in the attack.
