ISAF CAPTURES FOUR TALIBAN LEADERS

Leader From Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan Killed

ISAF confirmed that it captured four Taliban leaders during operations in Afghanistan over the past three days. In addition, a Haqqani Network leader was captured, and a leader of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan was confirmed as killed. Two insurgent facilitators were also captured.

SHER ZAMAN KILLED!

ISAF Captures Two Other Taliban Leaders

ISAF confirmed that Sher Zaman, a Taliban leader, was killed during an operation in Helmand province earlier this week. This marks the fourth Taliban leader confirmed killed in the last week of operations.

Sher Zaman was involved in responsible for purchasing and distributing IED components to other Taliban members for use in insurgent operations, and also participated in IED and small arms fire attacks against Afghan and coalition forces. He also provided intelligence to senior Taliban leaders.

Suspects Planned Times Square Attack

The surviving suspect in the twin bombings near the finish line of the Boston Marathon admitted that he and his brother planned to set off similar bombs in Times Square in New Cork City. This came as controversy continued over the decision to Mirandize Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Taliban Leader Taken Out!

ISAF confirmed that forces under its command killed a Taliban leader during operations in Helmand province. Mullah Abdul Zahir was responsible for arranging large shipments of weapons and IED components into Helmand province for use in attacks against Afghan and coalition forces and assassinations against Afghan National Security Force members while also providing intelligence to senior Taliban leaders.

TWO INSURGENT LEADERS WHACKED

Taliban, IMU, Lose Bigwigs

ISAF confirmed that a Taliban leader and a leader of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan were killed during operations over the last two days. Feda Mohammad and Mullah Hayatullah were killed during operations in Balkh and Kandahar provinces, respectively.

TWO MORE BIGWIGS NABBED

ISAF Captures Taliban Leader, Haqqani Facilitator

ISAF reported capturing two more insurgent bigwigs during operations in Afghanistan. The captures bring the total of killed or captured insurgent leaders and facilitators to six in the last four days.

The Taliban leader was captured in Helmand province. He controlled a cell of fighters responsible for a number of attacks against ISAF and Afghan forces in Helmand and Kandahar provinces, and also oversaw weapons facilitation in the area, trained suicide bombers, and served as an improvised explosive device expert.

KHALIQ MIR WHACKED!

ISAF Takes The Fight to Insurgents

ISAF confirmed that Khaliq Mir, a facilitator for the Haqqani Network, was killed during operations in Afghanistan over the last three days. ISAF also confirmed the capture of two Taliban leaders and a Haqqani Network leader in that same timeframe.
