Afghan Uniformed Police, combat advised by U.S. Special Forces, located and destroyed 15 improvised explosive devices in Shahid-e Hassas district, Oruzgan province, Jan. 26 - 27.

The combined force received tips about the location of the IED's from the local populace while conducting patrols in the area.

According to villagers, insurgents had emplaced the IED's after Afghan and Coalition security forces had temporarily left the area after recent operations.

All IED's were safely destroyed with no civilian casualties or collateral damage.
