Send to a FriendIraqi Security Forces arrested 21 individuals during two joint security operations today targeting vehicle-borne improvised explosive device network members in Baghdad and Bayji.
Iraqi Security Forces operating in western Baghdad arrested 17 suspects while serving a warrant for an individual allegedly involved in VBIED attacks.
The joint security team searched several buildings and sequestered multiple individuals for questioning. Based on information gathered, 17 suspects were determined suspected associates of the warranted individual. The warranted individual was not apprehended during the joint operation.
During a security operation in Bayji, located approximately 102 km southwest of Kirkuk, Iraqi Police and U.S. advisors searched for a warranted VBIED network leader. The warranted suspect allegedly facilitates attacks in coordination with VBIED-network leaders throughout Salah ad Din Province.
ISF questioned individuals present at the scene, and arrested four suspects based on incriminating information and evidence found on the premises. The warranted suspect was not apprehended during the operation.
