Letter Sent to Boehner Yesterday
By Harold Hutchison

Over 180 Representatives have called for a select committee to investigate the 11 September, 2012 attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, citing the failure of current Congressional committees’ efforts to hold people accountable not only for the attack, but the Obama Administration’s response to it.

In the letter, Representative Frank Wolf (R-VA) note that “there has literally been zero accountability for what happened in Benghazi. No terrorist has been detained or killed. No administration official has been held responsible for the security failures and poor response that night.”

Wolf also pointed to an op-ed by Greg Hicks, a State Department whistleblower who was the highest-ranking diplomat in Libya after Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed in the attack on the consulate.

“We are never going to get to the bottom of what happened that night until there is a bipartisan House Select Committee that can reach across jurisdictional boundaries, compel public testimony and documents that the administration continues to withhold from the Congress and protect those who may want to testify publicly about the events of that evening,” Wolf wrote.
